Rel Kurhaus concert Stones not on stage, according to Van der Meijden
Henk van der Meijden denies that the riots during the concert of The Rolling Stones at the Kurhaus in scene are set. The former tv producer responds to allegations of Bas van Toor.
During the gig of the British band on 8 August 1964 destroyed a part of the audience in the concert hall.
In the June published autobiography of Bas van Toor (Bassie, Bassie and Adriaan), claims to be the artist that these riots were put in scene, so that the beautiful television images would produce.
According to Toor, would director Dick Harris on the relevant evening actively have been looking for rioters, because a televisiemedewerker therefore had asked.
Henk van der Meijden, former Telegraph editor and former director of the decade, let all do so, the newspaper Faithful know that he is not in the statements.
Toor doubt, however, not to his own memory: “I knew Dick well and he said he was always openly the truth,” says the 81-year-old tv personality at the newspaper.
“By the way in which he was that evening in a panic, while a very quiet and stable man was, I doubt there is no moment whether he spoke the truth.”
