Red Bull talent Verschoor (16) is promoted to Formula Renault 2.0

Richard Verschoor comes this coming year in the Formula Renault 2.0. The 16-year-old talent comes from the stable of Red Bull and was promoted to the class which will serve as a good training ground for the Formula 1.
Verschoor made last year, his debut in motorsport, after he was at the karting was discovered by Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko. In 2016 he was directly two-time champion in the Formula 4 for the Dutch MP Motorsport.
The Formula Renault 2.0 has a number of Formula 1 drivers produced. Among other things Stoffel Vandoorne Carlos Sainz and Valtteri Bottas crowned himself in the past to champion in this class.
“It is a logical step in my career”, says Verschoor on Instagram. “The choice in the Formula 4 to drive with MP Motorsport and history of porsche is really a good decision for my debuutseizoen in the sport. I did great in the viewer driven.”
Verschoor drive next year, the Dutch team. “In consultation with Red Bull, I have again opted for MP. I have great confidence in the team and therefore I look forward to the new season.”
“I have this winter, and plenty of test kilometres made in the Formula Renault car. The goal is again to win, although I realize that it’s now twice as difficult against guys who are in their second or third season of Formula Renault.”
Neil Verhagen is the team-mate of Verschoor in the Formula Renault. The 15-year-old talent is a newcomer in the Red Bull program, and has won several competitions in American raceklasses. Verhagen is an American with a Nederkandse father.
Verschoor drive currently in New Zealand where he is the ranking advances in the Toyota Racing Series. The talent from Benschop also still part of the KNAF Talent First programme.
