Recovered Jonker in the 18-member Orange-selection for european CHAMPIONSHIPS hockey

Kelly Jonker is fit in time for the european CHAMPIONSHIPS in hockey, from 18 to 27 August in Amsterdam is held. The 27-year-old aanvalster of Amsterdam is included in the Monday presented selection of coach Alyson Annan.

“It is a strong group with a good balance of younger and more experienced players. We still have three more weeks to be at our best to prepare for the european CHAMPIONSHIPS”, says Annan, who next week with Orange in Spain the last voorbereidingstoernooi on the EK trains.

In Terrassa are duels with Belgium, Spain and Germany on the program. Spain and Belgium are in the european CHAMPIONSHIPS in the same pool as the Netherlands. The Czech republic is the third opponent.

Selection hockeyvrouwen: Ireen van den Assem, Carlien Dirkse van den Heuvel, Margot van Geffen, Kelly Jonker, Marloes Keetels, Josine King (keepster), Laurien Leurink, Caia van Maasakker, Kitty van Male, Frederique Matla, Laura Nunnink, Malou Pheninckx, Pien Sanders, Lauren Strain, Anne Veenendaal (keepster), Maria Verschoor, Xan de Waard and Lidewij Welten.


Earlier on Monday, coach Max Caldas, the selection of the hockeymannen for the EK known. In the 18-member elite corps is only one player who was missing on the halvefinaletoernooi of the HWL.

“We have a nice group put together with a number of experienced guys and players for whom this is a first european CHAMPIONSHIPS”, said Caldas, who, with his team in Barcelona next week, still exerts against England, Spain and Germany. On August 13, plays Orange at home against India. Five days later is the start of the CHAMPIONSHIP.

“We look all out,” said Caldas. “But now, it is first important that we train well and the matches use to be well prepared to be able to start.”
