In the popular film series around the horrorpop Chucky is a reboot of Child’s Play, but with a modern twist, but in the Dutch film critics have been non supportive. A summary of the main review.

De Volkskrant, 3-star

The new version of “Child’s Play”, it tells a completely different story. Its still a horrible, ugly doll, it is no longer possessed by the soul of a serial killer, but it turns out to be a robot or software problems. In a case of a runaway artificial intelligence, which is kind of a nice lot of presents. Well acted (Mark Hamill is the voice of Chucky, and to do that appropriately, with just enough gruwelscènes for the fans, but not particularly spooky, but a bit flat.”

The Telegraph – 2.5 stars

“After that, we have seen how an angry employee at a factory secretly one of the most popular Buddi dolls, re-scheduling, is Child’s Play and proceed with a teenager, Andy, who is in the disruption of a toy for his birthday. Chucky’s eyes are just red, and he is able to follow commands is a bad one, but it is also a welcome friend to the lonely boy. This friend of him is scary keeps staring at the cat and tries to choke when Andy is scratching, it takes the guy for granted.”

“Especially in the first half of this Child’s Play to grasp, that’s pretty good from it. Chucky’s software turns out to be a sponge for the bad language and gory movies that Andy and his buurtgenootjes, inadvertently, a psychopath from it. The director, Lars Klevberg pull that much absurdity. The Norwegian film-maker, is throwing, however, has its own glasses, if he had the meaning, the tour is trying to go. With the more serious tone, the lack of logic in his horrorvertelling becoming more and more disturbing. It’s a good thing for the bloody mayhem in the last quarter of the movie is totally coming back.”

The AD is 3 stars

“This brand-new adventure around the red-haired culthorrorfenomeen, it is quite useful. Thus, for the hard of humour is still untouched. The pop, with the voice of Mark, the “Star Wars” Hamill is still just as hateful, and the actors are better than in the average horror film. In spite of the fact that it is a demonic, pop, contemporary, it all depends around the location and the styling that is typical of the atmosphere of a bygone videotheekjaren.”
