Guns n’ Roses was Wednesday night in a sold-out Goffertpark for 65,000 visitors to act. According to critics, the concert was “memorable” but are the rockers their “sharpest edges” now lost.

The Telegraph

“The first big musical smash hit, Welcome To The Jungle, sedates the quantity for the pushing and shoving escalates. That song is so great and compelling as ever, with Axl lets hear that there is in his vocal cords – once warmed up – still best rack sits on his 55th. (…) That the ruzietje of earlier, not the show, but the atmosphere downright elated is also appears as a Slash of the love theme from The Godfather plays, happily by the mainstream ‘la la la la’. If the guitarist then the familiar intro of Sweet Child O’ Mine bet there is already such a shimmering wave through the province of brabant.”

“It’s not a full reunion, but guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan for the first time in nearly 25 years on tour again with Axl Rose. (…) The emphasis is on Appetite For Destruction, the debut album from 1987, of which the majority of the songs pass by. It takes a while for the vocal cords of Rose are warmed and he sings certainly not always pure, but the energy leaps off the stage.

AD – four stars

“There they sounded then. That fearful cry. The unofficial start of the wild ride back to the time that long hair, black sleeveless shirts and sunglasses to the definition of ‘cool’ for a man. (…) A splijtend hard a greatest hits revue was yesterday for 60,000 fans, mostly in their forties at youthful shoes. With classic rock being that – as proved particularly thunderous version of Sweet Child O’ Mine – from front to back were meegebruld. (…) A three-hour mound Guns N’ Roses, which also bassist Duff McKagan is back in the past about the Goffertpark. So eager and full of energy that you barely can imagine that the band on this tour.”

NRC – two stars

“In the past, left the band fans ever hours of waiting and the filming of the musical heroes lead to the shut-down of a show. The ego’s were so swollen that a cold war between the band members arose, and Guns N’ Roses then shit imploded. Time – and money – does wonders and so after two decades, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and singer-cum-enfant terrible Axl Rose is back on stage. (…) But there is something missing, and that not only are the vocal cords of Axl Rose. As in mid-Angus Young, guitarist of AC/DC, on stage rent, it becomes clear what is wrong. Rose fell last year with success for AC/DC in, and the in Aalten resident Young now just to hang out with GNR.”
