“The fans saw the masters of the metal they would most like to see: tough as nails. Who of Metallica innovation or experiment is expected, cleans are the best hope at the entrance of the hall. The foursome is like a visit to the Chinese on the corner on Sunday evening: you know in advance exactly how the ordered menu will taste. And in Metallica’s case, provides the main course, no maagkramp, but of hearing damage. The Volkskrant – three stars

“The bandjesgevoel is missing. You look to one person, and so a parade of passing Metallicamannen, and have actually hardly the idea that here is a close-knit metalbandje able to play. Especially because the band didn’t hecht playing. (…) There happen to be fortunately also a lot of nice things. The around the stage, flying in square blocks, on which different images are projected, are a pleasure to watch. The spectacle at it again new song Moth Into Flame is breathtaking, with as little motjes flying, luminous minidrones.”

The Telegraph gives no stars

“Brilliant, hard and cunning so, full of aggression and the well-known boast of Hetfield, who is still staggering from the back of his throat over a mere life and death. Ten tracks in succession did that pretty eendemensionaal, but so is this band once, at best. That you saw there when she was with z ” n celebrate a drumintermezzo inbouwden in the number Now that we’re dead, what mainly happened as misplaced moeilijkdoenerij.”

Metro gives no stars

“Metallica gave the fans Monday night in the Ziggo Dome, where they came for: a knalharde hardrockshow. It is a tried and tested recipe that never bored. Even after 36 years. (…) Above the stage were 36 floating tv’s to see and do when Moth Into Flame circled even drones above the stage. Occasionally one fell down, did not spoil the fun.”
