Recensieoverzicht: ‘apple Juice was finally a festive edition’

Last weekend, the hip-hop festival apple Juice place in Amsterdam. NU.nl create a summary of reviews of major national mediatitels.

The event attracted this year more than 14,000 visitors and programmed at four different venues in Amsterdam’s Flevopark, both foreign as well as Dutch artists.

“It started wet, but hiphopfestival apple Juice was this year finally a festive edition. (…) The Dutch raprevue on the main stage ran smoothly. Artists followed each other in quick succession, the songs were short. ‘Liefdesrapper’ Bokoesam (photo), from the Eastern part of Amsterdam, had in almost any number one other accomplice, such as Idle, and the always incendiary Ray Fuego, that left the stage through a dip in the audience.”

“Such a hiphopfeestje if this is actually different than many other music festivals. Here no people flows between concerts from stage to stage shuffling, while the timetable studying. Here goes, the party is continuous. (…) Although a few extra big names had not been out of place, it had its advantages. There was the time for surprises to come, especially in the smaller stages provided by internet radio stations, Red Light Radio and Boiler Room, the place for cross-pollination and solid lines from the hip-hop.”
