Raf Simons honors diversity at the first fashion show for Calvin Klein

To the eye of many celebrities, the Belgian designer Raf Simons on Friday his first collection for Calvin Klein is proposed. The show honored the diversity, and included some references to the current political context.

For the show had the guests a white printed bandana received, with the request that during the show, to wear as a sign of “unity, inclusion, hope, and acceptance”. The show began and ended to the strains of “This is not America”, a song by David Bowie.

With the greetings of the audience at the end of the show, explained Simons no representations. The invitees received a letter stating that he pays tribute wanted to bring to America, “with all these different people and different clothing”.

The 49-year-old Simons began six months ago at Calvin Klein, after he the end of 2015 departed for the French fashion house Dior. For his first show for Calvin Klein was Simons count on the interest of a whole host of celebrities. Director Sofia Coppola, actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore and Naomie Harris, the influential Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour lined up at the start.
