Radboudumc calls for bet questionnaire for screening breast cancer
Women between 50 and 75 years are recalled for breast cancer screening, but the disease can be better combated by using a survey of women to identify an ‘increased familierisico’.
Researchers from the Radboudumc in Nijmegen call for the submission of a questionnaire to women who for the first time to participate in the national breast cancer screening.
From a recent test with a questionnaire showed that 4 percent of the participating women have a greatly increased familierisico on had breast cancer without knowing it.
In women with a hereditary predisposition for breast cancer can reduce the risk of the disease up to 80 percent. This group also has a 60 percent chance of ovarian cancer. One and another comes by a so-called mutation in certain genes. It is thus of interest that as early as possible to detect.
