The artwork Rabbit by the American artist Jeff Koons at auction in New York 91.1 million dollar produced, translated roughly 81 million euros. It is a record price for a work by a living artist.
The steel rabbit from 1986 exceeded the amount in november was consideration for the painting Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) by David Hockney. That work, which also was sold at Christie’s auction house, went for a total amount of 79.8 million euro of the hand.
The old record for a work by a living artist was also in the name of Koons. His work Balloon Dog (Orange) was in 2013 afgehamerd at 53 million euros.
The New York Times reports that the art of Koons is bought by art dealer Robert E. Mnuchin. He is the father of Steven Mnuchin, the current Us minister of Finance.
