Putin says visit to Paris after an invitation for conversation about Syria
The Russian president vladimir Putin has a visit to Paris cancelled after French president François Hollande has invited to talk about Syria.
Russia has on Tuesday confirmed that Putin’s visit has been postponed.
Putin would be next week to the French capital, to a Russian orthodox cathedral beside the eiffel tower, an exhibition of Russian art to visit and his French counterpart Hollande to meet. But Tuesday morning decided Putin to abandon the visit.
France and Russia are diplomatically at odds with each other. Last weekend blocked the Russians have a French proposal in the UN Security council on Syria. The French wanted the council to would pronounce an immediate end to the air strikes on the Syrian city of Aleppo, but by a Russian veto ended the proposal in the trash.
According to a source within the office of Hollande, the French president Putin invited to perform on Syria to talk, but he wanted no other activities with the Russian head of state to take. Reply to Moscow that the visit is ‘suspended’, without a new date.
