Puerto Rico’s justice Minister Wanda Vázquez was sworn in as the island’s new Governor Wednesday, hours decided by the Supreme court that on Friday the inauguration of Pedro Pierluisi was as a Governor, against the law, and changed it.
The unloved Vázquez had last month said she wanted the job in the midst of weeks saw political unrest, thousands of protesters demanding the resignation of former Gov. Ricardo Rosselló. The island territory become the second wife of the Governor.
Your appointment will be expected to lead to more demonstrations of how the hashtag #Wanda renuncia, or “Wanda to withdraw,” was trending on social media vacated before the Rosselló officially, his position.
The hashtag is a force similar to “#Ricky renuncia”, which was used by activists, Rosselló, to step down.

The widespread opposition against Vázquez-who was appointed in the year 2017 and it is considered to be part of the Rosselló inner circle –stirred, in part, on claims, to not keep track of the corruption probes against members of their pro-statehood New Progressive party.
Pierluisi was elected Secretary of state of Rosselló, while the lawmakers were in recess, only the house agreed to his nomination. Then he was sworn in as Governor Friday resigned after Rosselló officially. In response, Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz challenge Pierluisi legitimacy sued the Governor, arguing that the Senate approval was also necessary.

“It is stated that the swearing-in, named as Governor of Hon. Pedro R. Pierluisi Urrutia, Undersecretary of state in the break, is unconstitutional,” the court said in a statement.
Rosselló’s office said at the time that Pierluisi does not need to be confirmed by both chambers of the Puerto Rico legislature. Pierluisi supporters cited a 2005 law says that in cases in which the Secretary of state takes over as Governor, you do not need to be approved by both houses of the legislature.

The Senate, the lawsuit argues that the law went against the Constitution and the Supreme court agreed.
Pierluisi, said before the verdict that he would respect the court’s decision, no matter what it would be.
“I wish the honor of Wanda Vázquez Garced values of the greatest success as Governor of Puerto Rico. I’m always in the best disposition, any initiative to improve the quality of life of our people and the support of the Federal government to fulfill its duty to assist the Puerto Rico’s needs for recovery and reconstruction,”

Rosselló, initially, announced, on 24. In July, he would resign, after two weeks of protests against economic mismanagement and licked the chats, which showed him and his top aides to the victims of hurricane Maria and the other Puerto Ricans denigrate.
The scandal led to the resignation of top Puerto Rican officials, including then-Secretary Luis Rivera Marin. Puerto Rico line of succession, the Secretary of state is next in the series to serve as a Governor.
If Marin resigned, Vazquez was the next.
