PUBG Mobile in China replaced by alternative revenue model

Developer Tencent has Wednesday in China, the mobile version of the popular shooting game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) closed.

The techgigant has the game PUBG Mobile replaced by an alternative called Game for Peace. In a statement to Reuters writes Tencent that the game is a tactical shooter game, that “a tribute” to the soldiers that the Chinese airspace to defend.

Tencent would already be over a year waiting on approval from Chinese authorities to transfer money to PUBG Mobile to be allowed to earn, for example, via in-app-purchases. For Game for Peace was authorized in april already.

PUBG Mobile exists since march 2018. In China, the game would be seventy million daily users.
