Protesters in New York rip ICE, Trump’s immigration policies; counter-demonstrators Dems say the blame for border crisis

Hundreds of protesters gathered in New York City, Grand Central Terminal on Friday night to protest Trump’s management of immigration policy.

Meanwhile, counter-protesters beat Democrats, citing what they viewed as the party of inaction on the nation on the border crisis and demanding that the staff of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are complied with.

The hour-long event was organized by rise and Resist NYC, the local arm of a non-profit founded in response to President Trump-election in 2016. It was like on his Facebook page as a silent protest to “the object of the Border Patrol and ICE to terrorize migrants, refugees and Asylum seekers.”

Alexis Danzig, a member of the rise and Withstand, said Fox News, which she helped organize Thursday’s protest to take a position on the disastrous policies against the “Trump-administration of our border.” On the question of whom they support, would choice in the coming 2020-presidency, Danzig Fox News said she would vote for “anyone but trump.”

She turned also against the “lock up the people who have come legally apply for asylum, and putting children and families separated in the concentration camps with no means to connect to you again.” (Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, got a counter reaction for the comparison of the US version, internment camps along the US-Mexican border to Nazi concentration camps.)

A smaller group of counter-demonstrators, some with “Trump 2020” – Banner and “Keep America Great” – poster stood in the vicinity.

A trump supporter, identified only as Jennifer to ICE staff and law enforcement authorities said in New York City weren’t getting the respect they deserve. They blamed house Democrats for depriving them of the means to the solution of the border issues. (1. July, President Trump signed into a law a $4.6 billion spending bill for the border according to the plan, the approval by both the GOP-led Senate and Democratic-run house.)

“The Democrats had the White house and the Congress [under the former President Obama], and they have done absolutely nothing,” in order to deal with the border crisis, she said.


You ICE agent said, “very hard-working people. Many of them are Hispanics themselves. You want to be sure to our country. You want sex slavery to an end. You want to be slowed down the drug trade. … You deserve respect, just like our police are worthy of respect, that you don’t always in this city.”

Grand Central Terminal, visited by over 750,000 people daily and is a popular place for protests. According to the event’s Facebook page, nearly 300 people attended the Thursday demonstration. The police and other law enforcement agencies were on hand. No arrests were reported.
