Prosecutors: More prisoners shared child porn in US jail

FORT DIX, N. J. – Prosecutors say three New Jersey prison penalties for child porn are accused of using smuggled mobile phones and removable storage cards to share child pornography behind bars.

Two of the Fort Dix prisoners face charges of conspiracy and distribution and possession of child pornography on federal property. The third faces counts of possession of child pornography on federal property and access with intent to view.

All three were arrested Monday and were put through their initial court appearances later in the day.

Prosecutors say the arrests stem from a long-term research that led to similar charges against five other Fort Dix inmates last April.

The authorities have said the prisoners were involved in the sale of removable storage cards, which included videos with young children, babies and toddlers, and images of the sexual abuse of children.
