DETROIT – Federal prosecutors say a Detroit man accused of gathering of the purchase of weapons and explosives did that in command of the Islamic State and is supported by a group of supporters in Maryland.

The U. S. Attorney’s Office made the claim in a court filing Thursday opposing a defense request free Sebastian Gregerson from prison pending his trial.

Gregerson is being held in a federal prison in Milan. Lawyer David Tholen argued in a court filing that Gregerson could wear an electronic confirmation and will be released so that he can live with his wife and two children in Detroit, or with his parents in the near of Ann Arbor.
