A 22-month-old pure-bred American Staffordshire terrier went missing in Atlanta international airport.
A prize-winning show dog went missing in Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Saturday night, when she was set to fly back home to Amsterdam.
Gale, a 22-month-old pure-bred American Staffordshire terrier, was set to be loaded on a KLM flight bound for Europe when they reportedly got loose from her chest. According to a Facebook post, staff at the airport had the dog is only in her crate when she escaped.

Floris van Essen, Gale owner, said the dog was safe in her coffin after you get through security. However, on 10 minutes before you board the flight, who is responsible for the handling of Gale told airport officials that they had lost her. It is not reported how the dog managed to escape from her chest or where the chest was when they came out.
Essen was told to board the flight to the airport personnel continue with their search for the dog.
“As you can imagine, this is just a terrible ordeal,” of Essen, who returned to the Netherlands, told 11Alive in a message.

In a statement to Fox News, a spokesperson for the Hartsfield-Jackson airport said that the search for Gale is “ongoing.”
“Our Airside Operations team – which consists of two biologists – has been involved in the search in our 47-hundred acre campus. Our various partners, including the FAA, CBP, and the airlines are aware of and the supervision on the airport.”
KLM airlines told Fox News in a statement that they are working with the airport in the search.
“A dog broke out of his cage when it is loaded into the cargo of KL622 on 23 March. The owner of the dog has been notified. KLM expresses its sincere regret and is active with the Atlanta Airport to search for the dog,” the statement read.
Gale is chipped and was last seen wearing a pink collar. The owner asks anyone who sees the dog to contact them via Facebook.
