The Senegalese president Macky Sall (57), is re-elected as president. The prime minister of the country Mohamed Ben Abdallah Dionne has to know that Sall with at least 57 percent of the votes in the elections has won. The official result is on Friday only to be made public.
The opposition, however, know that there is probably a second round is needed.
Sall seems to be a great advantage over his challengers. The main democratic opposition candidates during the reign of the president detained on suspicion of corruption. According to Amnesty International the charges as politically motivated and the trials are not fair.
Ousmane Sonko is now the main opponent of Sall. He previously worked for the tax authorities in Senegal and spent there a lot of corruption to the outside.
