Pregnant Maryland teenager is not allowed during the graduation ceremony

BOONSBORO, Maryland. – A Maryland high school are excluded from participation in her school, the graduation ceremony because she was pregnant.

Media report-18-year-old Maddi Runkles discovered that she was pregnant in January. The teen attends the Heritage Academy, a small private Christian school in Hagerstown. At Runkles’ pregnancy announcement, the officials of the school also suspended her for two days and removed Runkles of her student council position.

Runkles says that they feel that they are treated is more severe than the students who are suspended for other reasons.

Anti-abortion organization Students for Life says Runkles should not be punished for her pregnancy, but should be praised for choosing to keep the baby.

Heritage Academy Administrator David Hobbs in a statement calling Runkles’ pregnancy ‘ is an internal matter about which much prayer and discussion has taken place.”
