COLUMBUS, Ohio – A disgruntled postal worker accused of fatally shooting his supervisor at an Ohio post office and then the killing of a postmaster outside of her apartment is scheduled to be arraigned on charges including aggravated murder.
Municipal court records that do not have a lawyer for the 24-year-old DeShaune Stewart, of Columbus, ahead of his Wednesday arrest.
Police say Stewart was naked, both during the attacks. They say that the first time he killed 52-year-old Lance Dempsey on a post office in the suburb of Dublin, in the early Saturday morning.
The police were later called about an armed man behind a woman at a nearby apartment complex. The postmaster, 53 years old, Ginger Ballard, was found dead between vehicles with blunt force trauma to her head, and Stewart was arrested.
The police said that the violence appeared to retaliate against two people who are involved in Stewart’s pending resignation at work.
