Portugal has requested help from Europe to combat the many natural fires in the country, out of worries for the predicted weather conditions that are most likely new burn cause.

Sunday were more than three thousand men on the leg for bluswerkzaamheden, but that is not enough to get the fires under control.

The situation threatens the next few days even worse by the sustained hot and dry weather in combination with a hard wind. The minister of the Interior Constanca Urbana de Sousa did therefore appeal to the other EU-countries under more fire-fighting planes and firefighters to send.

It is likely that there will be this summer in Portugal, more forest fires arise.
