AKRON, Ohio – A toddler who died after her mother found her on a porch in the freezing cold had wandered from home when her father fell asleep, police in Ohio said Monday.
Two-year-old Wynter Parker’s mother left for a few hours Friday afternoon only to come back and her daughter unresponsive on their apartment porch, authorities said. The Akron Beacon Journal reports she called 911 and screamed “she is frozen.”
The girl later died in a hospital. The temperatures on Friday ranged between 12 and 19 degrees Fahrenheit (-11 and -7 degrees Celsius).
The mother left Wynter with her father for approximately two hours at the family apartment and the authorities said that the man — who works a night shift fell asleep.
No charges were filed, but the investigation is continuing. Results of an autopsy Monday in treatment.

Wynter’s mother told a 911 dispatcher that she had no idea how long the girl was outside.
The coordinator gave her the run of the CPR, while the frenzied woman screamed out and asked why a rescue squad was not yet come.
