KENNESAW, Georgia. – Police say a student found with a gun in a suburb of Atlanta college proved to be mentally unstable.
News outlets quote an arrest warrant as saying the officers discovered Kenneth Glover with the .45-caliber gun in his backpack at Kennesaw State University in Aug. 29. Glover’s mother called the police and told that he suffers from a bipolar disorder, was not on his medication and needed help.
Glover was transferred to a psychiatric hospital. The warrant says a school psychologist, told the police that Glover said that he would shoot people.
The police says in a message alerting the campus of the university that the warrant is for possession of an illegal firearm. They say that there is no evidence that he has no threats in the direction of specific individuals or the community.
It is unclear whether Glover is a lawyer who could comment.
