Police officer shown kicking handcuffed man in the head resigns

B BOS, N. J. – A New Jersey police officer seen on dashcam video kicking a beaten man in the head has resigned.

B Gross attorney Adam says Telsey the resignation of patrolman George Manganaro was accepted Tuesday night by the borough council.

Manganaro was charged with aggravated assault and was hung up on what happened early morning in the neighboring Carneys Point Township.

A one-minute dashcam video obtained by NJ Advance Media shows Manganaro and another officer speaking of a burglary suspect, handcuffed and sitting on the ground. The suspect tries to get in, and then kicked in the head with such force his hat flies off.

Salem County’s prosecutor says the defendant was left with a gash in his face.

A man at a phone number listed for Manganaro hung up when asked to comment.
