CARY, N. C. – Authorities say a burglary suspect is shot and killed when police tried to arrest him in a North Carolina home.
Cary spokesperson Carrie Roman said in a news release that officers went to the home in the Raleigh suburb after getting a call about an intruder at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Roman said the shooting happened after the suspect was stopped and officers tried to get him into custody. He died a short time later in the hospital. The city has not release any other details.
The authorities say that the officers and the people in the house were not injured.
The names of the officer who fired and the dead man is not released yet.
The State Bureau of Investigation investigates the shooting.
