CHARLESTON, W. Va. – A police chase that ended in a volley of gunfire has left a West Virginia man is dead.

They say the vehicle crossed the Dunbar toll bridge in South Charleston, leading Dunbar, and South Charleston, officers east by the town in Charleston.

Charleston police spokeswoman Lt. Autumn Davis says Toler crashed the vehicle into a semi-truck and started shooting at the police. South Charleston police returned fire, striking him.
