Police Australia thwarts possible attack in Melbourne on Christmas
Seven people have been detained in Australia on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack in Melbourne on Christmas.
According to the local police would be the seven to be inspired by terrorist organisation Islamic State, writes the news agency AP.
The men were planning an attack at the Flinders Street train station, Federation Square and the St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Authorities held the seven men, for a long time in the holes. Possible, they wanted the attacks with bombs and other weapons, police said.
In raids by the police were parts for an ‘improvised explosive device’ found. Potentially had a sizable number of people killed or injured, according to the police.
Approximately four hundred agents were involved in the raids. During Christmas there will be extra police on the street in Melbourne to make people feel secure.
