MARKHAM, Ill. – Police say a father who disappeared with his two young children is considered a person of interest in the fatal shooting of their mother in a suburb of Chicago gas station.
Authorities say the 27-year-old Lakisha Robie died early Wednesday after the shooting in Markham. The police department Mack Sanders says that she had seen arguing with Lynn Washington, the children of the father, while returning from a club with another man.
The police described Washington as a person of interest, but Sanders says they “do not say” he is responsible for the shooting.
Illinois State Police announced that an Amber Alert on Wednesday night for their children, 2-year-old Jordyn and 3-year-old Lynn. The quest continues with Thursday.
Sanders says Washington, who is excluded from the contact with the children through a protection order, picked up a friend of the family.
