Player of the tournament, Martens ‘very proud’ team after the european CHAMPIONSHIP title
Lieke Martens was after the end of the european CHAMPIONSHIP final between the Netherlands and Denmark (4-2) UEFA declared the player of the tournament. The left praised Sunday the team effort of the Oranjevrouwen.
“I felt good during the european CHAMPIONSHIPS, but this I had not expected. Without my teammates and the staff, I had not been able to achieve. I am everyone’s very grateful”, said Martens against the NIS.
“Everybody runs for each other, we have fought like lions on the field. There may be some error,” referred to by Martens on the difficult first half against Denmark. “But we continue to fight. Wow!”
The 24-year-old belgian, who after the european CHAMPIONSHIPS to get started with FC Barcelona, could not really realize that the European title was. “I am so proud. European champion, how cool is that?”

In the final in Enschede was Martens good for the second hit of Orange. Of distance passed by the Danish doelvrouw Stina Lykke Petersen and made the 2-1.
