Pieter Kuijpers gets award in Eye
Director Pieter Kuijpers on January 23, an oeuvre prize awarded for his enormous contribution to the Dutch film. The ceremony will take place during the Shortcutz Festival in institute Eye in Amsterdam, and was the organization Friday known.
The jury has decided the 48-year-old director of movies such as Van God los, TBS, and The Griezelbus honor after he last year ordered to stop directing and to focus more on producing young film talent.
“I like to be with talented, smart and avid creators of movies and tv drama to create a challenging content, of highest possible quality and for the widest possible audience”, says Kuijpers. “There is a lot of talent and there is high quality among the young creators. I hope that I can help them with the right stories and the right way to tell them.”
The festival will honor the filmmaker with a retrospective. It is the fourth time that Shortcutz Amsterdam career award issues. Previously went with the award to George Sluizer, Jos Stelling and Rutger Hauer. Of Kuijpers is currently in use by the NPO the series Riphagen broadcast, about the Dutch merchant who in the Second world War, a fortune earned by jews to betray.
