Video: Police say a 2-year-old girl who was shot in the head, killed in a triple shooting in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
A 2-year-old girl who was fatally shot in Philadelphia on Sunday, in a particularly disturbing act of violence just hours after an 11-month-old boy in the town, had been shot four times, police said.
The unidentified toddler was in the home, in the royal borough of Kensington when, at around 3:30 p.m. officials said that a person with a gun, entered a home and shot three people, including a child.

The toddler was hit once in the back of the head and pronounced dead minutes later, WTXF-TV reported.
Her death, and reportedly, it’s the 278th person to be put to death in the city this year, and it came in less than 24 hours after an infant was shot four times while sitting in a car with his step-mother, in the Hunting Park area. The baby in this incident, was hit in the back of the head, the chest, and twice in the buttocks about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. As of Monday, he was listed in critical condition.
Philadelphia’s Mayor, Jim Kenney tweeted that he was “outraged, disgusted, to track the violence of this incident that claimed the life of an innocent 2-year-old and left another student fighting for his life,” and said that residents should not live in fear of violence, that is, it can take away the life of a child.”
“With the steady flow of illegal guns and drugs, we must do what we can locally to address the violence and help the residents,” Kenney said. “We have dedicated teams in the areas affected by this weekend’s violence and to provide support and trauma-informed care.”

Christine Coulter, the deputy commissioner of the Philadelphia Police department, ” she said, “never seen anything like it, it’s something you can’t unsee.”
Shortly before the 11-month-old baby, was shot dead on Saturday, three men were injured, a couple of blocks away, in the other to shoot. It was not immediately clear if the shooting was connected to it, and the authorities said that no arrests have been made.
