Pharrell Williams takes honorary doctorate in receipt
Pharrell Williams has Wednesday an honorary doctorate in fine arts from New York University, where he is, in 2016, for a while studied. In his speech broke the 44-year-old singer a lance for the rights and the equal treatment of women.
“Your generation is rapidly becoming the entrenched laws and principles, that women are all too long to hinder, to unravel”, says the Happy singer at the crowd of students.
“Think you’ll agree the possibilities that arise when women would not be obstructed. Then we’d be in a better world”, continued Williams.
The dean of the university praised the singer and said that he is an important example for many young people in the US. “From his outstanding creative work and to his dedication to the achieving of positive changes,” said the dean.
