Petition calls for Trump to name LeBron James the new education Secretary, replacing DeVos

Petition seeks Secretary for education Devos’ impeachment.

To replace a petition for NBA superstar LeBron James, Betsy DeVos as the Minister of education has attracted thousands of signatures.

Beginning Friday, more than 23,000 people signed the Care2 petition, asking President Trump to replace DeVos with the Los Angeles Lakers star. The three-time NBA champion recently opened his I Promise School in Akron, Ohio.

“I am very excited about the overwhelming positive reception of the petition, but I’m also unsurprised,” Rebecca Gerber, the Initiator of the petition, told USA Today. “The success is undoubtedly due in part to the effect of LeBron James as a singular role model in our culture, and its ability to, not only a superstar athlete, but a superstar activist that so many men, women and children admire.”

Gerber said she hopes the petition can “send a message”, and claimed that the people were frustrated with trump the supposed “petty-bourgeois, racist attacks against James and the other black athletes.”

DeVos is one of the most criticized members of the trump management. She took office as Secretary of education, in February 2017.

Last month, vandals recorded a 40-million-Dollar yacht owned by DeVos’ family, knotting, setting it adrift in a boat club in Huron, Ohio, thousands of dollars in damage.

Unfortunately for Gerber, James signed a four-year contract with the Lakers over the summer. He also has a busy year behind, is set in Hollywood as he is to the production of several TV-series “Space Jam 2″is.
