People with the gene would be more likely to suffer from migraine with financial stress
People with a variation in a gene would be more likely to suffer from migraine with worries and stress or financial difficulties than people who have a different type of gene.
Researchers have about a thousand Hungarians and a thousand British research into the relationship between two variations of the so-called CLOCK gene and migraine. The results are Tuesday, published on ScienceDaily.
The gene has an important role in the regulation of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. The scientists found no significant link between the gene and migraines, but look at the stress level was the chance of migraine-20 percent higher at one type versus the other.
“This research shows not what the causes of migraines can be, this is not a cause, but it does show that both stress and genes play a role,” says researcher Daniel Baksa.
“What we need to do now is look to see if other genvariates related to different stress factors the same effect.”
