People who are over 75 and more on the internet
People of above 75 years are increasingly using the internet. 60% of Dutch people older than 75 had this year at home access to the internet.
Four years ago, had slightly more than 40 percent of the Dutch population of 75 years and older at home access to the internet.
The age group employs the next pc or laptop also increasingly from smartphones and tablets. In 2012, 10 percent of over 75 have a tablet and 5 per cent a smartphone. Now has 30 percent of those devices in the house, reports the Central Statistics Office after investigation.
In the slightly younger group of 65 – to 75-year-olds, the tablet and smartphonebezit in the same period even more than doubled. The tabletbezit among the elderly grew between 2012 and 2016, from 28 to 60 percent, the ownership of smartphones increased at the same time from 24 to 65 percent.
E-mail is the most used by people over the age of 75. Nine out of ten older people use there internet for. Around 70 percent goes to the internet to search for information about goods or services and banking. Around 60 percent of consumers do online purchases and searches for information about health, says the CBS.
Of the 65 – to 75-year-olds used 66 percent of the internet access to online newspapers and news articles to read, or to make use of social media (36 percent). The 75-year olds do that less often.
Of all the inhabitants of our country has 94 percent home access to the internet, 92 percent makes use of it.
