JUNIATA TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania. – The Pennsylvania State Police continue their search for the suspect of the deadly shooting of a state trooper.
The officer, Landon Weaver, was shot Friday night while responding to a report of a protection-from-abuse-violation of a house in the center of Pennsylvania. An external Huntingdon County area is completed in the search.
Gov. Tom Wolf said in a statement Saturday that he is convinced that the suspect will be caught and “brought to justice.”
Weaver is registered with the Pennsylvania State Police in December 2015, and was assigned to the Patrol Unit at Troop G in Huntingdon. He is the 97th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to be killed in the line of duty.
The governor said that he will be remembered for his courage and willingness to serve.
