Pennsylvania State representative Brian Ellis has resigned after reports of the rape of an auxiliary accused of loose woman in his house a few years ago.
In a statement, in writing, to the speaker of the house of representatives on Monday, the Republican legislator said his resignation would be effective immediately, and that for the quarter, its “highest professional honor was” WTAE reports.
His unnamed accuser is supposed to be a state employee who never worked directly for Ellis, but had rejected advances from the husband-and-father-of-two “several times,” according to state victim advocate Jennifer storm. The woman said she had a drink with a friend, if she thinks she was drugged and had no memory of the next 12 hours. The next day, she went to the hospital.
“She reported, how they the doctors, you have no memory of the previous night and she believed that she was sexually assaulted,” her lawyer, Christine Changer, said on Friday.

The incident is thought to be on Ellis’ house in the vicinity of the capitol in Harrisburg for at least three years.
Ellis has been stripped of his activity as Chairman of the house consumer protection Committee two months ago when the allegations were revealed for the first time, and was asked to read the house Republican leader, to take a step down “to take care of his family and address the accusations brought against him,” a statement.
A criminal investigation by the Dauphin County District Attorney is ongoing, but Ellis has yet been charged with a criminal offence.

“It is with immense gratitude for the sacrifices of my family, the support in my constituency, and the friendship of my colleagues, I have determined that it is in the best interest of my family, the residents of the 11th house district, and my own health, I take a step back from the General Assembly,” Ellis said on Monday.
