Police in Pennsylvania have arrested a Philadelphia-area man they say raped a 14-year-old girl he met on a dating app called “Skout.”
Michael Kaufman, 28, of Manayunk, faces several charges, including statutory rape, contact with a minor and statutory sexual assault.

An officer with the Philadelphia Police Department, told Fox News that the teenager, when one grows older, and met Kaufman at the app on Monday. On the same day, the victim agreed to meet with Kaufman at a local park, police told Fox News, adding that she was accompanied by her 19-year-old cousin.
The police said that they have decided to go back to the Kaufman’s home, and the teenager was gang-raped after her cousin left the house.
A search warrant carried out at Kaufman’s home recovered evidence, like them, Fox 29 reported.

“This is a heinous crime, and our thoughts go out to the victims and their families.” Skout said in a statement to Fox News. “We strive to maintain a safe and secure environment on Skout.”

“We have to make use of the industry-leading automated and human moderation, to spend nearly half of our employees are only to climate change mitigation, and safety and security, and to devote a lot of resources for the prevention and removal of minors, and other problematic behavior of our apps,” the statement continued. “We don’t want young people on Skout, and we spend a lot of resources to keep that from happening.”
Skout claims to have users from more than 100 countries. The website says that the app allows people to meet other people in the vicinity of their location, or in different parts of the world.

The police said that they are investigating it as Kaufman’s connected to another rape.
