Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, said Tuesday evening that President Trump produce his prime-time Oval Office address “to foment a crisis and anxiety, and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration.”

In response, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif supplied, together with the House., Schumer urged Trump to approve legislation to end the partial government shutdown “while it is a debate about border security, to continue.”

In her speech, Pelosi said the President with his statements during the partial shutdown “is full of misinformation, and even malice,” and accused the administration of practicing “cruel and counterproductive policy” on the southern border.

“The fact is that the women and children at the border are not a threat, you are a humanitarian challenge,” said Pelosi, adding, “President Trump needs to stop holding the American people hostage, must stop manufacturing a crisis, and re need to-open the government.”
