House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Monday made a point to heap more praise on Democrats flipped Republican seats exams in the 2018 medium-and representatives such as yourself, and freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, who districts wore, in which a “glass of water” was able to win with a “D” next to it for funding.
“If we have not won this election, it was in districts such as mine or Alexandria,” Pelosi said. “[S]he is a wonderful member of Congress, I believe, all that are able to confirm our colleagues. But the districts that are solidly Democratic.”
To drive the point home, she took a glass of water next to her and said: “This glass would win the water with a ‘D’ next to the name in those districts.”
Pelosi, who is travelling in Europe with a congressional delegation this week, made the comments during an appearance before the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Pelosi’s comment appeared to her latest attempt to play down the influence of the Democrats in the ” progressive wing. In a Sunday interview with CBS News Lesley Stahl on “60 minutes,” Pelosi said the group was “like five people.”
