Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode and Tupac knock on the gate of Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame

Seventeen artists are eligible to join the legendary rock temple. Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, Joan Baez and Tupac Shakur were first nominated.

Eighteen artists were on Tuesday nominated in 2017 to join the legendary Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame. Tupac and Pearl Jam are still there but since this year are eligible.

In the House of the Eternal Glory to be able to be included, an artist’s first single or album that is at least 25 years old . Their first recordings dating immer of 1991.

Tupac counts as large hiphopper with an inimitable style. The fact that, in 1996, neergekogeld was on the street in Las Vegas, has contributed to its aura.

Pearl Jam was the album “Ten” to the priorities of the grungebeweging in the 90s, but is still today very active and a loyal fan base count. This shy Eddie Vedder and his associates are a committed and previously left message.

Other contenders

Also make a chance on a place in the valhalla of rock: Janet Jackson, sister of King of Pop Michael, and for the second consecutive time nominated; funkdiva Chaka Khan; The Cars, pioneers of the new wave and synthesizers; and the discopioniers of Chic, for the eleventh time nominated, but have never been able to find the gate to heaven open beech.

Depeche Mode, one of the survivors of the new wave and the politics involved folkzangeres Joan Baez are there for the first time. Also Bad Brains, Jane’s Addiction , and Electric Light Orchestra are new in the list.

Kraftwerk and MC5 get a second chance.

Nine Inch Nails and The Smiths, both two years in a row nominated, this year.

Eight hundred musical experts and the public are now allowed to have their say. In december, we know the elect.

Last year were N. W. A., Deep Purple, Steve Miller, Cheap Trick, and Chicago are members of the Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame.
