Overweight Amsterdam children decreases

Less children in Amsterdam are too heavy. In three years time, the percentage of children with overweight and obesity dropped from over 27,000 to 24.500 children.
This is evident from the ‘State of healthy weight and lifestyle of Amsterdam children’ over the period 2012-2015.
In 2013 found that 21 per cent children were overweight. Because in the rest of the country, at 13% was made the church with the program ‘So we remain healthy’ work of a healthier lifestyle. The percentage in the capital is now at 18.5 percent.
The research showed that primary school-age children less often sugary drinks and exercise more.
There came a new problem. More than a quarter of the teenagers says sleep problems to have. Because sleep is also an important factor for maintaining a healthy weight, the council is working on a program to convert to a sleep-promoting.
