‘Orthodontists still give too little information.’
Dentists and orthodontists shoot still lack the information about the placement of braces, according to research by the Consumentenbond and the Dutch healthcare authority (NZa).
They give insufficient information about the different treatment options, the differences in quality and corresponding prices. A quarter of the 425 respondents did not get enough information about the inserted bracket.
Also the obligatory quote for a treatment above 250 euro continued to be regularly omitted or was only at the request of the patient provided.
In 2015 came the Consumers and NZa, after investigation, to virtually the same conclusion. When it was 70 percent not informed about the possibilities and costs.
“It is sad that it is still not in order. In 2015, promised that the health care providers and their patients to better inform you, but there are the past years, little improvements have been made in the transparency regarding treatments and prices,” says bond.
