The Oranjevrouwen were Sunday in ecstasy after winning the european CHAMPIONSHIP title in Enschede. The team of coach Sarina Wiegman wrote history by Denmark in the final with a 4-2 defeat.

“This is really not to believe. I’m standing here just in front of the tv crying. The realization is yet to come, but this is really great”, said an emotional Vivianne Miedema after in The Grolsch Veste against the NIS.

Van Veenendaal had previously been expected that the Netherlands and Denmark quite well matched. “In football, Denmark is the best team we have played this CHAMPIONSHIP. But finally we have the final deserved to win.”
