Opnamestop babies in Hospital after popping up MRSA
The Hospital takes provisional no sick or preterm babies. The measure is taken because of three newborn babies and two nurses turn out to be infected with the hospital bug MRSA, which is insensitive to most antibiotics.
That has the hospital on Friday to let you know. For healthy people, MRSA is not dangerous, but for small children and the elderly with weakened immune systems.
To prevent further spread of the bacteria to avoid, the kids that are now at the department of neonatology are isolated nursed. Also, all employees of that department examined for MRSA. Parents whose children over the past two weeks in the department are taken care of, get a call that they have their baby need to investigate.
The hospital expects to have the results of all tests after the weekend. Then it is checked whether additional measures are needed.
