Athlete David Rudisha, the olympic champion in the 800 meters in 2012 and by 2016 is on Saturday, with the lucky escape came at a tragic car accident in his home country of Kenya.
A grateful Rudisha wrote Monday on Twitter that he was Saturday night on his way to his home in Kilgoris, in the western part of Kenya, against a bus collided. “I’m okay, and I don’t have friends.”
The accident occurred because the car is the world record holder in the 800 meters with a flat tire, got on the highway that links the capital, Nairobi, to Kisuma.
The athlete was rushed to the hospital. There are no breaks detected, and he was quickly back into the house. In the accident, no people were killed.
Rudisha has chronic back and knee injuries, no contest, been running it since the Diamond League meeting in Shanghai in may, 2017. He’d recently re-started training in the hope that it will be next year’s olympic title to defend in Tokyo, japan.
Thanking the Almighty God for the gift of life.Saturday night, around 1030Hrs, I survived a tragic road accident at Keroka-on-my-way-home-to-Kilgoris after a head-on collision with a bus plying Kisii, Nairobi Route. I am fine with no injuries! Thank you 🙏🏻 for your prayers.
