Ohio school gives honorary diploma, a survivor of the Holocaust

MILLBURY, Ohio Ohio high school has a special relationship with a survivor of the Holocaust has honored her with a diploma.

The Magazine reports Lake High School in the vicinity of Toledo gave 90-year-old Paula Marks-Bolton, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, an honorary degree Sunday.

The native of Poland, was imprisoned in Auschwitz (OW’-shvits) and various other camps when she was 13.

Marks-Bolton has developed a unique band with a group of students at the High School, when she spoke to them in 2013 about love and acceptance. Students wrote letters and sent care packages to her then to stay in touch.

The 90-year-old’s two daughters graduated high school and college, but she never got the chance to finish school.

Marks-Bolton said she is overwhelmed by the love of the students.
