CLEVELAND Ohio-A man has pleaded guilty to charges brought after the FBI said he threatened the AMERICAN military members online on behalf of the Islamic State.
FBI officials say Terrence McNeil placed in a file on his Tumblr page in September 2015, which included the names and addresses of military personnel. The Akron man then allegedly urged the supporters of the Islamic State to behead anyone who gets in the file.
U. S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Mike Tobin says McNeil pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Cleveland.
Tobin says McNeil pleaded to five counts of a request to commit a crime of violence and five counts of making threatening interstate communication, with five other charges dismissed. Sentencing is Aug. 2.
A message left with McNeil’s lawyer seeking comment on the guilty plea.
