An Ohio man in kidnapping charges after a woman told police that she escaped from the freezer of a Cleveland-area home where she can be held for days, police said.

The East Cleveland Police Department said Eric Glaze, 41, was on Tuesday arrested on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder after the victim escaped from the house earlier in the day. Authorities were first alerted to a problem in the field at 10 a.m. after a woman crashed her car Keys, according to said, as she made her escape.

“She came here on her own free will and, essentially, they were given some kind of substance abuse, according to her,” he told FOX8. “It’s not exactly certain of the events that are in-between, but she was awake, and she was in a freezer that has been carried out.”

The woman, who has not been withheld, said that she was able to push open the lid of the freezer, and escape on Tuesday morning, and you have to get in the car and drive off before she got in the accident.

“They seem to think that they were, they had her drugged up to the ability that [she thought] she’s dead, it’s what they have for us, and that they are, in essence, are trying to get rid of it,” Gardner told FOX8.

The woman, who suffered multiple injuries, including severe frostbite, was taken to an area hospital.

The woman said that when she went to a party at the house on Sunday, and woke up one day in a freezer, police said.

The authorities believe that the house is able to operate as a group home, but the city is in the building, the department said it had not been, Cleveland.com have been reported.

Neighbors said a SWAT team arrived at the home of the “kick the door in.”

“Why didn’t you just call 911, have the paramedics come and check her out? At first, he believed that they were given, or took, something, something, you know what I’m saying before you just say, ‘Oh, she’s dead,'” neighbor Pat Phoeson told FOX8.

The incident is still under investigation. The icing is expected to be arraigned Thursday at the East Cleveland Municipal Court, Gardner told Cleveland.com.
