Officials seize $5 million in gold bars at the international Airport of Heathrow, said to be from a drug cartel

Five million dollars worth of gold bars were seized at London’s Heathrow Airport by officers from the law enforcement agency investigating a South American drug cartel.

It’s gold with a weight of 229 pounds, and was on his way to Switzerland, the Cayman Islands, where it was seized. It had arrived in the Cayman Islands, and Venezuela on a private jet.

The shipment was seized last month, but the judicial officials will now have the permission of the National Crime Agency (NCA) will hold it under the Proceeds of Crime act. The gold will now be treated as cases of money laundering in the Cayman Islands with the help of the NCA.
